Designing of a Data Warehouse for a financial department

DigitalXpert's specialists have performed a project for a large financial department; the project consisted of data quality analysis and data warehouse designing. The goal of the project was to develop technological solutions for integrating highly productive means for data cleaning; to define multi-tier system architecture in terms of "data – business logic - applications"; to develop data structures for storage of meta information and of additional investigation data.

The Department in question possesses a considerable amount of data that allows analyzing violations in financial sphere and preventing terrorism financing or capital cleaning. The vast amounts of data received from a variety of sources are necessary to be united into an integrated system that would meet the requirements and needs of analysts who are dealing with the problems specified.

Suggested solution

Having conducted a huge work, the company has developed several documents meeting the strictest requirements in terms of volume, information quality, and accordance to standards. The component parts of the solution are: ETL process architecture and control of its performance / quality; architecture of data warehouse and meta data repository; combined report on the current solution metrics and recommendations on new architecture introduction.

Result

The project resulted in initiation of a whole series of projects by the Department; some of them included the documentation prepared by DigitalXpert. The company's suggestions allowed optimizing the current system and improve the overall infrastructure.
