On October 1-3, 2006, DigitalXpert took part in Russian CIO Summit – the fourth Conference of Russian IT Directors.

The forum that took place in the neighborhoods of Moscow collected IT chief officers of large-scale companies, mass media representatives and IT technology and service vendors. By participating in the forum, DigitalXpert realized the opportunity to get first-hand hot information about the necessities of potential customers and software market tendencies.

The forum's main topic was the alteration of functions and status of an IT director in organizations: his sphere of interests transforms from a purely technical one into that of business processes. An IT CIO becomes the person who influences the formation of the organization development strategy and financial issues.

The problem of absence of standards for IT services was among the issues mentioned at the Conference. Modern companies are striving to concentrate on main business tasks, to lower risks, to achieve the optimum ratio of insourcing and outsourcing. But IT services are not generally treated as "goods"; there are no clear characteristics of suggested intellectual solutions; no standards for IT products. The way out of this situation can be realized in building of a standardized complex of services.

Also the problem of integration was one of the hot topics discussed at the forum. Nowadays companies use a relatively large range of software applications while data exchange between them presents a problem sometimes. The new generation of solutions is an integration platform, the key point of which is integration of normative and reference information.

The immediate Russian CIO Summit was dedicated to discussions of most relevant problems. The forum allowed DigitalXpert to set correct priorities that allow adjusting the company's offers to the current IT needs of end-users.
