Company Info: News Archive: Visit by a delegation from the Danish Journalist High School

On June 15, 2007, a representative delegation from the Danish Journalist High School has visited DigitalXpert's office in St.Petersburg. This call's target was to see a specially prepared presentation of e-Learning-related solutions ever developed by DigitalXpert Software. Among other things presented to the visitors, there were: an overview of DigitalXpert's content-oriented and administrative platforms; a direct internet-based show of already popular educational resources (quickmind.net) and some newer ones. Starring among the latter was WriteBrain, a product that allows to properly organize work on writing various papers (compositions, essays, research works, narratives, reports, etc.).

A special interest has been aroused by the IBC product (Interactive  Broadcasting & Communication, which is a system for content and streaming video delivery; also a Pocket PC application and a content-oriented platform. These solutions will allow the School to organize access to all sorts of educational content, to make the learning process more convenient and visual, and to increase the level and quality of students' learning.

There are not many companies involved in professional development of such systems. Actually in Russia, it is only recently that the fundamentals of necessities and possibilities have been formed for realization of real industrial distant learning systems; this signifies the transition point from computer infrastructure startup and CD products to higher-class educational solutions. Most higher education institutes in Russia do not yet venture experiments with large-scale projects, they tend to be content with series of small local applications. But the progress cannot be stopped, and modern technologies in education are not limited to just electronic books or video versions of lectures; it is a different methodical approach, other possibilities and results.

The Danish Journalist High School (Danmarks Journalist Højskole, DJH) was established in 1971, for training professional journalists. Until very recently, it has been the only educational institution of this sort in Denmark. In most cases, it is a place where people with higher education receive additional instruction; they enhance their qualifications to work in leading media companies.
